VAIN REMORSE
Blithe-the calf longed to peek
outside the byre, into the cybele to seek
gifts agogo,meadows-lush green
wonders of wonders, yet to be seen
to abnegate is not bish but a sin
mother dear’s heart, the calf needed to win
nature’s bounty,singing praise
chaff were all,mother dear says
chagrin aplenty but futile all
mother dear would neither heed nor fall
when brume hugged the morning sky
lept off the calf;tricked the watchful eye
mother dear’s faint clamant fell on the ears
but the calf cared least;had no more fears
abonmarche,eat all you want
mowing all day with no fears to haunt
hours,days and weeks flew by
all the zeal and zest began to die
cogitated the calf “how’s mother dear?”
“you are selfish” the trees seemed to jeer
the calf galloped back to witness a sight!
mother dear gone;the cosy byre in blight
“have you seen mother dear?tell me Aegir”
“she has been burked, that’s all I hear”
“no!that can’t be true;Aeolus, you ought to know”
whispered he “she’s cervelat by now”
“forget all that happened,come-sing and play with us”
the calf jumped to the pyre shocking Aegir and Aeolus
“halt!do not do so oh little one…”
“I have to.waiting for me is ABADDON”
Wow… I accidently landed on this site. Its amazing… I particularly liked this one poem here “VAIN REMORSE” by Adithimanasa.Very true! This one has intense emotions, very good use of English words(had to get the aid of dictionary for some words though!),a wonderfully different story & a strong message too.Combo pack of prose & poetry!Kudos.Way to go.My vote is definately for this poem.
good work !
