June 2010 Writing Contest Winner

We had another great turnout in the June 2010 writing contest. There were 72 entries total and the winner is….”Are You Awake Yet?” by Mandi H. Spencer. I couldn’t help but laugh while reading this fun little story. Whether you have kids or only remember being a kid yourself, this funny story rings true and will bring back some sort of memory. I guess now we need to find out from Mandi if this is fiction or non-fiction!

Mandi wins one of my handmade pens. I only have a few of these left, but I’ll come up with something good as the writing contests continue.

Thanks again to everyone for a nice writing contest and writing community to enjoy. Keep entering the writing contests and we will do this all again shortly.

Votes accepted: July 16, 2009 through July 30, 2009.

Winner announced: August 1st!

Read the full contest rules for details. Also watch the contest schedule and enter each month.

Don’t forget to vote for the May writing contest entries.

NOTE: This schedule was revised on June 16. Since we didn’t have any entries and there was some confusion about voting and entering at the same time. If this confuses you please ask in the comments and we’ll make sure it is clear. Basically, we are going to have an entry period each month during the 1st through 15th. Voting will happen during the 16th through the 30th of each month (except February of course). This June/July contest is extra long to adjust the schedule for the new submission and voting periods.
